We've seen plenty of quality indie rock bands come out of Victoria, BC in the last few years. Mother Mother, and Wolf Parade (though they'd like you to think their from Montreal) to name a few. The Racoons are the next of these West Coast bands to catch the attention of indie hipsters, and labels, across the nation. While playing shows consistently on their home turf over the past few years, 'The Racoons' drastically changed their sound for the better. Lets call it, honing their craft. Lately, they have quietly been writing and recording some of the catchiest stuff I've heard since 'Apologies to Queen Mary'. 'Be My Television' is my favorite of their early recordings with catchy hooks and some horns to top it off.
Keep your eyes on the upcoming shows to see when The Racoons hit Vancouver.
